The New York State Hospital and Healthcare Associations’ (NYSHHA) Federal PAC is an independent federal political action committee formed to offer individuals concerned with the challenges confronting hospitals, health systems, and continuing care providers the means to support worthy candidates for FEDERAL elected office. 

HANYS PAC is an independent New York State political action committee formed to offer individuals concerned with the challenges confronting the health care community the means to support worthy candidates for STATE elected office. 

Participation in both HANYS PAC and the NYSHHA Federal PAC is voluntary and contributions are not tax-deductible.

HANYS PAC and the NYSHHA Federal PAC have more than 2,000 members who collectively contribute more than one million dollars to candidates for elected office during each two-year election cycle.  The NYSHHA Federal PAC is affiliated with the nationwide American Hospital Association Political Action Committee (AHAPAC).  AHAPAC contributes more than $2.5 million per election cycle to federal candidates. 

NYSHHA Federal PAC can only solicit contributions from:

  • salaried executive, managerial, administrative, and hospital-employed medical staff of HANYS’ member institutions and
  • hospital/health system trustees of HANYS' member institutions.

Contributions to NYSHHA Federal PAC from non-eligible persons will be returned.

HANYS PAC can accept contributions from all persons eligible to contribute to the NYSHHA Federal PAC and:

  • auxilians, non-salaried employees, non-salaried physicians at HANYS member institutions; and
  • for-profit corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships

HANYS PAC, a New York State Political Action Committee, and its federal affiliate, the NEW YORK STATE HOSPITAL AND HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATIONS’ FEDERAL PAC, are voluntary, nonprofit, unincorporated associations formed solely for political purposes. HANYS PAC is not affiliated with any political party, candidate, or organization. The NEW YORK STATE HOSPITAL AND HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATIONS’ FEDERAL PAC is affiliated only with HANYS PAC and the Political Action Committee of the American Hospital Association (AHAPAC). The cost of organization, administration, and solicitation of contributions for both committees is borne entirely by the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) and the regional associations. Copies of HANYS PAC reports are filed with the New York State Board of Elections in Albany, N.Y.; the NEW YORK STATE HOSPITAL AND HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATIONS’ FEDERAL PAC reports are filed with the Federal Election Commission, and are available from their public records office in Washington, D.C.
